Tension

Tension type headache accounts for 40% of total headaches. It is not as severe as migraine but far more common. It is characterized by Dull, bilateral, mild-moderate intensity pressure/ band like constricting pain without striking associated features. Tenderness of peri cranial muscles, co-existing mood disorders and mechanical disorders of the spine and neck may be contributing factors. Environmental factors also likely play a role in its pathogenesis.
This headache can last from 30 min to upto 7 days.
