Cervicogenic headache

Cervicogenic headache is a type of secondary headache in which the pathology resides in the neck structures and pain starts in neck and radiates to the back side of head and above the ears. Most common structures implicated in the production of headache are the upper cervical facet joints. However, other structures like the ligaments, muscles, nerves and vessels can also be responsible for generation of this kind of pain. Cervical spondylosis is a major cause behind many patients developing Cervicogenic headache.
